Trail Details

This year marks the trail’s 9th birthday! If you visit us every year or this is your first, we will have something new for you to come out and experience. This year we welcome Windy Meadows Farm and Fiber Factory.

Spend the day on the trail with your friends and family. We have so much to do and so much to learn about these wonderful animals. Feed an alpaca from your hand; or, touch one to discover its fabulous fiber. Alpacas are gentle animals and are safe around even the youngest member of your group. We hope you take a Road Trip with us this year as we head out to the Alpaca Country Trail.

While on the trail, enter our basket raffle to win products (past baskets included hats, gloves, socks, and scarves) worth over $250 dollars. You never know what might be in the basket this year. To enter, visit all five farms and submit your entry at the last farm. Each person who visits is eligible to enter, so pack up the car with friends and family and head out to the trail for a day of some family-friendly fun.

Hope to see you on the trail!

What’s happening on the farms?

Northwoods Alpacas is excited to show off our 4 (so far) babies this year! Pick a name for the cria and you could win a stuffed alpaca. Enjoy cider and donuts while you tour the farm. Feed the alpaca apples – but make sure you step back up as they fight for that sweet treat! We will be having the Genesee Valley Sock Machine Club demonstrate antiques sock knitting machines! See how socks were – and still are – made! The farm store – Field to Fashion – will be opening its doors for the season. The shop is stocked full with blankets, pillows, sweaters, jackets, scarves, hats, gloves & many more items to keep you warm this winter. Indulge yourself in the luxury of alpaca!

SanGer-La Alpacas is happy to open our farm to guests from all across the region. Ace, our lab, and Kaylie, our collie, will welcome you to see our 18 alpacas for the first or 8th time! Kris can and will tell you everything you need to know about alpacas, answering any questions you might have on what it takes to care for them. Nancy will feature demonstrations throughout the day on spinning yarn with a Great Wheel and treadle wheel, needle felting, and wet felting. If you want to see how something is done, just ask! Try on Nancy’s one of a kind felted hats or get those alpaca stocking stuffers! We’ll have alpaca products to cover you from head to toe.

Stoney Meadows Alpacas is hosting Hoggin it barbecue! Come to the farm! The menu is pulled pork sandwiches, nachos, pork chili, and beverages. While there, make sure you see Theresa. She will be demonstrating spinning, triangle loom weaving, rectangle loom weaving, rug yarn peg looming, and knitting. There will be animals for petting (angora goats too!). And, of course, there will be lots of beautiful items for sale in our farm store!
